LOCTITE 518 is a general purpose, medium strength gasket former offering excellent tolerance to light contamination. Recommended for use on cast iron, steel and aluminium flanges.LOCTITE® 518 cures in the absence of air, between metallic surfaces. It is resistant to low pressures immediately after flange assembly. LOCTITE 518 is capable of filling gaps down to 0.25mm and forms a flexible, chemical resistant seal that will not crack or deteriorate. Parts can be easily disassembled, even after a long period of time. Typical applications include sealing fitted joints between rigid metal surfaces and flanges. It is commonly used as a gasket formed in situ on rigid flange connections, e.g. in gearboxesand engine crankcases.
