LOCTITE 638 is a general purpose, high strength, fast curing retainer.LOCTITE® 638 is designed to join cylindrical fitted components and is particularly suitable where the gaps can be up to 0.25 mm. The product cures in the absence of air between mating metal surfaces, preventing loosening and leakage caused by impact and/or vibration. It offers outstanding adhesion characteristics on active metals such as mild steel, as well as on inactive substrates such as steel and galvanised surfaces. The product provides good high temperature performance and good oil tolerance. It withstands minor surface contaminations caused by various oils, such as cutting fluids, lubricants or protective fluids and anti-corrosives.
