Flexible shafts consist of three components that can be combined in different ways: the flexible core (SE), the protective tube (SCH), the handpiece (HA). The flexible core consists of four to ten layers of wire in accordance with DIN 2076, especially for high-speed clockwise rotation. The core coupling is firmly pressed on. After approx. 100 hours of operation, the core of a flexible shaft must be relubricated. The protective hose is made of oil-resistant rubber, with a flat steel spiral on the inside and solid rubber on the outside. The connection couplings are firmly pressed on and covered with rubber sleeves for reinforcement. The handpieces are light and handy and cover a wide speed range. In continuous operation, fatigue-free work is possible with low running noise. Interchangeable collets allow awide variety of tools to be accommodated. The sliding connection enables quick handpiece changes.
