Decanter - Capitaine

Its name, CAPITAINE, is a nautical reference to its broad flat base, asit was the only decanter that would stay upright on board. Its generousshape favours the mingling of the wine with the air, accelerating therelease of its aromas. It is particularly suitable for young red wines.

A young wine will expand until it is mature and release aromas thanks tothe oxygenation of some of its compounds. Therefore, the ideal decanter for a young wine is wide-based or has ahorizontal shape (known as «Canard» [duck-shaped]), to favour the mingling of wine with the air.
